Here’s What’s Happening
The Colorado Division of Insurance (DOI) announced that they have asked the courts to move Friday Health Plans of Colorado into liquidation, which will end coverage for Friday Health Plans customers on August 31, 2023. Starting July 17, Friday Health customers can use a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) to choose new coverage for the remainder of the year.

Impacts to Customers
Health insurance coverage for people who have a plan from Friday Health Plans of Colorado will end on August 31, 2023. To continue coverage for the rest of 2023, Friday Health customers can use Special Enrollment Periods to select other coverage for the last four months of the year. See the section below for details about the two Special Enrollment Periods.
The Special Enrollment Periods in Colorado for Friday Health customers start on Monday, July 17, 2023, and run through October 31, 2023.

Helping Customers Find New Coverage with SEPs
- Accessing the Involuntary Loss of Health Coverage SEP
Customers with a Friday Health plan should log in to their Connect for Health Colorado or Colorado Connect online account and report that they will lose health coverage on August 31, 2023. Doing so will open the Special Enrollment Period to select a new plan. Customers should also report any changes to their income or household to make sure they’re getting the right amount of financial help.
- Accessing the Emergency SEP for August 1 Coverage
Customers who are having difficulties accessing health care under their current Friday Health Plan can enroll between July 17 and July 31 for August 1, 2023 coverage. Advise customers in this scenario to report that they will lose health coverage on July 31, 2023, instead of August 31, 2023, to open this emergency SEP. This SEP is available via self-attestation. Customers do not have to provide verification documentation before or after enrolling to qualify for the SEP.
